Inna Patty

CEO of Miss Ghana Organisation, Inna Patty, chose to celebrate herself as part of this year’s International Women’s Day.

In a long post on Instagram on Monday, she described herself as an achiever who has impacted the lives of many women as she can.

“I choose to focus on myself. It’s a day to reflect on the issues that affects women; past, present and future. It is a day to appreciate and celebrate women who are not only achievers but have made sweeping positive impact in lives of other women, by creating opportunities and equipping them with values or skill sets that better positions them on the equality ladder,” she wrote.

Inna was crowned Miss Ghana in 2004, and rose through the ranks to become the pageant’s president. She is currently the CEO of Exclusive Events Ghana, the organiser of the pageant.

In 2019, she was listed among 2019 top leaders who are shaping their communities, industries and continent as a whole by online magazine, Humble Beginning Entrepreneurs (HBE) award.

She founded Miss Ghana Foundation, the charity wing of the pageant with the sole purpose of ensuring the sustenance of social intervention projects that the Miss Ghana contestants, the eventual queen and her two runner-ups embark upon during their reigns.

She uses her Miss Ghana Organisation to touch a lot of lives in a positive way. But aside all she has been doing, some queens turn around to fight her and the brand.

“As I reflect on my role in empowering our young women (not leaving the young men out of the equation), I shall lend the impassioned words of a cherished client, Amar Sundeep Hari, CEO of IPMC: “…Inna Patty, today I want to tell you that not only do you present the most beautiful women of Ghana to the world, but the confidence, the ‘all rounded’ mentoring, ethical grooming of our young daughters to be functional contributors to our society, intrigues me. Many at times as parents, we are unable to fully do that ourselves, but with you in charge we are confident that we are putting our girls into the right hands. I want to congratulate you for this great work and tell you that we at IPMC will continue our support for Miss Ghana…” she added in her post.

“Yes, year in and out, my team and I  significantly try to improve lives of over hundred young ladies through curated programmes offered and partnered under the Miss Ghana Foundation. How many have genuinely, spontaneously appreciated our efforts and sacrifices? How many have supported the brand that helped to confidently shape their lives? Interestingly, only a handful! Many ask, why do you keep doing what you do… most people would have given up…? The answer is simple; maybe this is my calling! Maybe like many fairy tales with Princesses; I’m a ‘Fairy-Godmother’ and ‘a destiny helper’. We help to make miracles happen!

How many of us today respect and appreciate the dedicated teachers, educators and other role models who played pivotal roles in our lives? Have we ever paused to reflect on the challenges; mentally, physically, and quality of life of the tutors without whom the posh edifices/infrastructure of our schools will be meaningless or may even never have happened?

A simple ‘Thank You,’ makes life even more beautiful. Is there someone, who you need to appreciate? This is the delectable food for thought I leave for you as we celebrate International Women’s Day. Today, I join those who have appreciated our effort, to also ‘celebrate myself’, and my inspirational journey. I choose to pause, bask and marvel at defying odds as we transform lives, inspire and continue to build that legacy.”
