Multiple-award winning broadcaster Dan Kwaku Yeboah has been officially been sworn into office as member of the 2023 African Games Local Organising Committee.
The Managing editor of the Captivating Ghana Sports newspaper, who also double as the head of sports for Despite Media Group, was sworn into office by the minister of youth and sports Isaac Asiamah on behalf of the President of the republic of Ghana.
He took the oath of office and oath of secrecy on Tuesday under the supervision of the minister who has changed the phase of sports in the country.
Yeboah was unavailable for the inauguration of the committee last week as he was away with the Ghana senior national team in Turkey during the international break. Ghana President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo named the multiple-award winning broadcast as a member of the 9-member committee who will be in charge of organising the 2023 African Games.
Yeboah is an integral member of the 9-member committee which is chaired by legendary Dr Kwaku Ofosu Asare.
The multisport event will be held in three cities across the West African nation and will be the second time in history that the event will be decentralized in a process that started in the previous edition held in Morocco.
Kwaku Yeboah, a former spokesperson of the Ghana Football Association, will assume roles and responsibilities as an eminent member of the committee which have been tasked to ensure a successful stage of the games.
The committee will be responsible for providing the organisers with important advice on every aspect of organizing the event including the program, logistics, venue, security and accommodation as well as ensuring that local participation is maximized through creating local awareness of the event to all relevant stakeholders in coordination with the organisers. These will be tasks of the LOC among others and Kwaku Yeboah, who is also a media expert, is expected to play a crucial role on the success of the committee.
