Ghana defender Samuel Impressive has been named in the Georgian Erovnuli Liga Team of the Week after his impressive performance for Samtredia against Telavi on Saturday.
The 31-year-old nomadic full-back, who featured for Ghana at the 2010 FIFA World Cup, was composed at the back for Giorgi Mikadze’s men as they contained their visitors whenever they went on the offensive.
Samtredia, who went into the game slightly behind the opposition needed positive results to push up the ladder but, most importantly had to avoid a home defeat and it took the effort of Inkoom and his colleagues in defence to ensure they went away without tasting defeat.
Inkoom’s aggression and toughness at the back earned him a booking on the 79th minute mark. That not withstanding he emerged as one of the top performers as he was rated with a 6.87/10.
The former FC Basel defender has started 7 of Samtredia’s 13 league games this season but has featured in a total of 10 games for the newly-promoted side.
