Iddrisu Walaka Kinshasha recuperating at the Wa Hospital

Dr Hafiz Bin Salih

The Upper West Regional Minister, Dr. Hafiz Bin Salih, has stated that he does not take unilateral decisions in his capacity as the chairman of the Upper West Regional Security Council.

According to Dr. Bin Salih, since he took over as the regional minister, any issue that has to do with security are often conveyed at regional security meeting before any action can be taken.

“There are times in this region where I call Security Council meeting at 8pm. I am not a minister who just directs military or police to take actions, not at all. I am a law abiding citizen and I know what the law states, so I do not do things against the dictates of the law,” he said.

The Regional Minister has also led REGSEC to visit Iddrisu Walaka Kinshasha, the Sisala West NASARA constituency Coordinator, who came under attack last week and now battling for his life at the Wa government hospital.

The minister assured the victim that the government will pay for all his medical bills and also pursue the case to the end. “We would do whatever we can do to ensure that our brother regain his health”, he said.

Dr. Bin Salih made these pronouncements when the family of the Sisala West NASARA Coordinator visited him to express their appreciation to the minister and government for paying the medical bill of their sick relative. He told the family that they would delve deep into the issue to make sure those behind the crime are made to face the law.

According to him “For us members of REGSEC, we review the incident as a criminal activity and as I stated when I visited my brother at the hospital, nobody associated with the crime would be spared.

“Whoever took part in that criminality would be fished out and made to face the full rigours of the law.”

He added that Kinshasha has a critical role to play in identifying his attackers so that arrests are made for justice to be served.

In a related development, the Wa Magistrate Court has remanded three people into police custody over the attack on Iddrisu Walaka Kinshahsa. They are to reappear before court on May 4, 2022.

The suspects who are in the cooler are; Tora Kangjene (30), Vallesin Bayuka (39) and Alidu Wagia.
